Taxi service can also be requested through the various applications developed for smartphones, which allow the taxi driver to find passengers in a more convenient way and the user to hire a service.

Taxi drivers who operate with one of these legal and free apps must respect the official fares approved annually by the AMB Metropolitan Taxi Institute and ratified by the Price Commission of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
